So after 8 months and no breaks im finally going home. I almost feel like a stranger. I finnished all my classes despite all the craziness. So here i sit in the Antigan Airport, yep its 11:26am and im still on this island. After two power outages countless naps im still here.

Originally scheduled to leave this ROCK 8:38am, i just dont understand. And on top of that… these people at American Airlines made me pay an extra 190 US dollars for my ticket because for some reason they say i didn’t pay for the ticket in the first place…

Well its that time again to look back on how the semester went.

Microbiolgy:

dont expect to get much out of the class, this is one of those classes you have to realize nothing will be learned in class, or lab… you will basically learn the whole class in the last week of the class, via First Aid, Pass videos, Kaplan videos, Case studies and so on…

Immunology:

another class where you wont get anything from class. Self teaching is clearly the way to go here during the semester or just take it over the BLOCK!! it will save you the pain and agony of double classes and 75% final!!

Pathology:

The only class where if you go to every class you will learn something and you might even feel semi smart. The teachers are very interactive and passionate about how they teach. word to the wise… LISTEN TO WHATEVER THEY TELL YOU and you will pass the class and if you read what they ask… you will achieve a great grade!

Well it looks like the time is getting there and im so ready to go home… i finnished my speech and its gona be the best, why cause WEEEE THE BEEEESTT mayn! see yall in the GO!

update: so guess what with all the BS of the day, im still stuck in the freaking Caribbean… just my luck… but the hotel and everything else is just gravy… ill be home by 12 tomorrow and the wedding is 2 ahhhhh… so signing off so i can get some sleep!

It seems like the world doesn’t care about the values of the old, just the image seems to be good enough. Lets just pick out what seems cool about the pass and lets call it the same, but lets forget about the history cause that’s too much. Just look at the Olympics, what a beautiful time. Countries around the world getting together to compete for the honor of their countries. And this years Olympics in China have followed the foot steps of beautiful-nes. Yet, something missing.

How can the Olympics be proceeding, with two wars being fought. If the Olympians can come together and embrace even for a few moments, why cant the rest of the world. The idea was to celebrate individuals from the world around, but now it seems like its about rebuilding countries while pushing the contries dirt under the table, who can pay enough to get the games and who can kiss the most political butt. I hate to get into politics here but its my blog about my medical school experience but the world doesn’t stop, and its affecting me, so its part of my medical experience.

1:30am after studying 10 hours of microbiology and coming home to see nothing but killing and talks about Olympic gold on the TV is beyond crazy!!! what is wrong with the world. I just ask for just one person to even to think about all of this and educate themselves. Knowledge of self then knowledge of the world could help out a lot…

so that’s enough of my rant… i go to sleep now.

So with all the studies and possible lives on the line… mother nature will bless us once again with a close call… Doesn’t look like it will hit here but bad weather is on its way, in more then one way. Anyways i got to get back to Micro, the self is on Thursday!!! so much to learn so little time…

So, i just took the lab final in pathology and THANK a higher power for the fact i knew at least more then 80% of the test like the back of my hand. Yeah there were a few ?uestions that were mad tricky (all the blood ones!!!). But i can say i survived it and recovered from the last massacre of a mini (mini III).

Now sitting through the most worthless class (there is literally four people in it, spread out so it looks like two people), i had some time to put some things together to remind me of home. 14 more days, well until i find out if i passed immunology….ahhhhhhhhh. we took the test like last week, but still no sign of grades (still waiting on extra credit). but im sure we all did fine.

With absolutely no time to do anything else but study for this insane week and there after, I needed some time to waste. So, I started playing around with my iPod nano and the Nike+ accessory. Ive been running off and on since the semester started and really didn’t do much on the Nike+ web site. But they have these cool little extras that can make running a little more enjoyable. so behold the adventures of my running mini me…lol

That’s what i have become, a faceless computer powerpointer spending countless hours in the library drained with no Internet at home or phone or cell phone. I am a minuteless b-mobile user, delinquent C&W bill payer and staying just head above water class!!! Im a mad in class fall a sleeper cause the AC isnt working and the fans lull me into a hypnotic trance with their VARROOOOOOOOMROOOOM ROOOM… as the fresh air of the classroom slowly turns into a foul stench of uncomfortableness i dose off… and once i get home no luck… a bright light that shines in on my window 24/7, when can i rest!

I am a study all the timer, and achieve just minimal passing grades for ONE CLASS (you know what class)… Im the “i wish i knew what i was doing wrong” but all this effort seems to go no were, and im ready to through my hands up in the ayer! Im fighting with all the people around me and i have yet to get measured for my tuxedo that i need to be the “best man” at my best friends wedding on the 22nd of August. I just loss a good friend that i never got to talk to because i was too ashamed to…

i could be smiling but really im just trying to survive another semester… school is tough and when life isnt acting right its tougher, rougher, and raw…

The time you spend with people should never be taken for granted just because you never know when one day they wont be there. I’m guilty of this all the time, and now someone real close in my heart passed away. We were bros (Rob, Zack, and me) from the moment we first met, but we strayed away when i came back home, and then later came out here…

mainly i was the one who didn’t contact anyone… i miss you guys all and always thought that we would all be able to meet up when we were all doctors… i looked up to Zack and Rob and admired them always for doing what i couldn’t… i never got to go to Miami with them like we said… and i never got to come out to a show… and now what do i have to say… all i have now is all the memories of the good time we all had, turntable Fridays… and the music he left behind Zack K. – 20 minute mixtape/turntable fridays!!

just recognize the time you have here with the people you love and always tell them that… no matter what…

Well, last week we all celebrated “La Presidente” aka Lani’s b-day and what a day it was… crazy times at the house party and an even more eventful night outing at a new spot [Tattoos, previosly known as Putters]…

All types of people were out (pre-meds, first, second’s, third’s and forth’s)… most definetly a real nice place to chill out wild out!! for once… med school is such a drain on your brain that the triangle you are supposed to keep goes from isosceles to obtuse (ask me in person what that means, unless you are a Martian and understand my goon talk).

Met a lot of new people, lani made an early departure, kazi showed the chest hairs, people laughed, people loved, i danced so much that i was burring the night oil of the whole week and im pretty sure that was the feeling of everyone the next day…

well happy birthday miss Nancy Regan aka Lani and till next time….
